Dr. Erika Burley has been practicing dentistry for more than 16 years. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts before attending Southern Illinois University’s School of Dental Medicine to study dentistry. She participated in the general practice residency at Ralph H. Johnson VA Hospital in Charleston, SC. She then went on to complete a partial periodontal residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, also in Charleston. Before starting her own private practice, Dr. Burley worked in Fayetteville, NC, as an associate dentist for three and a half years. In 2003, she bought her practice from a retiring dentist who had been successful in the area for nearly 30 years. In 2008, she moved the practice to their current location and has been serving patients in the community ever since.
Dr. Burley is a member of several prestigious dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Charlotte Dental Society. She also serves as secretary on the Charlotte Dental Society Board.
She has a passion for her work and is always trying to improve her skills, which is why she devotes approximately 100 hours a year to continuing education. She works hard to make sure her patients get the best care possible. She also enjoys creating a safe, inviting environment for her patients.
Dr. Burley has won numerous prestigious awards, including the Woman of the Year Award from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority for community service in 2008 and the Top 15 Dentists of the Year in 2015 from opencare.com.
